She was predeceased by: her father Richard McLester, Jr.; her daughter Tanyeka Nickerson; and her sister Gwendolyn Renfroe. She is survived by: her mother Earlie Grant McLester-Watson of Columbus; her husband Michael L. Nickerson; her daughters, Shekera D. Nickerson (Jackie), Terriauna L. McLester and Debra L. McLester; her stepfather Charles Watson; and her siblings, Nathaniel Jackson, Emanuel Jackson, Osborne McLester, Gregory McLester, Cynthia McLester-King (Samuel) and Danthia McLester. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
