She was predeceased by: her parents, Idella S. Thurman and David B. Thurman. She is survived by: her husband Artis L. Hicks; her children, Terrance (Amy) and Jamesia (Terrance); and her granddaughter Olivia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery (553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, a cause that was close to the family's heart.
