It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank Merrett of Fort Deposit, Alabama, who passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Elsworth and Marjorie Merrett (Floyd); his brother Leonard "Sonny" Merrett; his grandson James Edward Merrett; his parents-in-law, John L. and Callie Mae Phelps (Sampley); his brothers-in-law, Frank Coker, Sr. and Bill Peterson; and his nephew Mike Merrett.
He is survived by: his wife Lena Mae Merrett (Phelps); his sons, Jeffery Warren Merrett, Joseph Neil Merrett and James Wayne Merrett; his daughters-in-law, Kaye Merrett (Owens), Bethany Merrett (Trimm) and Katie Merrett (Bailey); his grandchildren, Taegan Cole Merrett (Sarah Nelson), Haiston Conner Merrett, Saxon Collier Merrett, Logan Frank Merrett, Davis Alan Merrett, Andrew Thomas Merrett and Nathan Lee Merrett; his sister Peggy Jean Peterson (Merrett); his nephews, Don Coker, Frank Coker and Mark Merrett; his niece Cindy Coker; his sister-in-law Norma Lingenfelter; and his nieces-in-law, Sharon Merrett (Booker) and Claudia Merrett. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church (15 Church St, Fort Deposit, AL 36032). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
