He was predeceased by: his parents, George Julian Reid Sr. and Callie Holmes Reid; his wife Peggy Darlene Simmons Reid; his son David Ronald Watts; his siblings, Robert Edward Reid, George Julian Reid II and Carolyn Agnes Reid Forbes; and his parents-in-law, Estelle Sirmon Simmons and Dayton Oree Simmons, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, George Robert Reid (April), Alexander Scott Reid (Elizabeth) and Susan Darlene Keebler; and his nephews, Jay Forbes, Robert Forbes and Julian Reid III. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dunklin Funeral Home (812 W Commerce St, Greenville, AL 36037). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at the Myrtlewood Cemetery.
