With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Whitfield Bird of Forkland, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on April 10, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mafus Bird and Grace Whitfield Bird; his siblings, Eleanor Whitfield Bird and Mafus Rhodes Bird; his wife Elizabeth Otts Bird of Greensboro, Alabama.; and his grandchildren, Adrian Vanslavie, Christina Sneed and Andrew Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Grace Bird Sneed (Brandon), Avery MacEachin Bird, James Whitfield "Dusty" Bird, Jr. (Judy) and Archie Mafus Bird (Paula); his grandchildren, James Whitfield "Whit" Bird, III (Jennifer), Nathan Bird (Rita), Alison Bird (Jason), Russ Sneed, Lisa Sneed, James Schaible (Susan), Reece Schaible and Lili Bowen (Rhianna); his great grandchildren, J. W. Bird, Davis Bird, Jack Bird, Ellie Bird and Daniel Sneed; his grandsons, Whit and Reese; and his cousin David Compton.
