She was predeceased by: her parents, William Judson Townsend and Susan Richmond; her husband Charles Elvis McCarter; her son Charles Elvis McCarter, Jr.; and her grandson Daniel McCarter.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Perkins (Mike); and her grandchildren, Heidi Alexander, Shanna Gorman (Jeff), Chris McCarter (Ashley), Reid Short, Rhett Short and Hilly McCarter. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
