He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Louise Davidson Thompson; his parents, Leslie Thompson and Edith Thompson; his brother Elmore Thompson; and his brother-in-law Eugene Braden.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Thompson (Renee), Lenise Crenshaw (Mark), Keith Thompson (Belinda) and Beth Joseph (James); his sister Mary Braden; and his nieces, Janet Croley and Sharon Bailey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
