He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Shortreed (Schmitt) and Thomas Shortreed; his siblings, Thomas Shortreed, Donald Shortreed, James Shortreed, Phillip Shortreed and Kathleen Hoppe; his brother-in-law Donald Palzkill; and his nephew Kent Shortreed.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Pauline Palzkill; his daughters, Terri Weichert (Bob) and Brenda Shortreed; his grandson Matthew; his siblings, Gary Shortreed (Lorna), Duane Shortreed (Judy), Mary Ellen Smith (Mike), Sandra Gunderson (David), Carol Krez (Fred), Douglas Shortreed (Bonnie), Leona Shortreed and Robert Shortreed (Joan); and his sisters-in-law, Muriel Shortreed, Judith Shortreed, Helen Shortreed, Bonnie Shortreed and Linda Palzkill. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, and grand nieces.
At this time, due to the current pandemic, there will be no memorial service.
