He was predeceased by: his father Gerald Wade Hughes Sr.; his granddaughter Evelyn Grace Kubicz; and his pets, Greta, Rocky and Brandy.
He is survived by: his wife Melinda Taylor Hughes; his children, Gerald "Jared" Wade Hughes III (Sophia), Jodi Hughes, Jasmyn Kubicz, Lauren Davis (Joel) and Scott Heerssen; his grandchildren, Jackson, Layla, Weston Kubicz, Ansley, Jacob and Luke Davis; his mother Louise Hughes; his sisters, Janet Hughes and Kristie McLain (Scott); his nieces and nephews, Matt Pickle (Samantha), Dakota Spann, Mandi Harrison (Brett), Megan Raftery and Brandon Johnson; and his pet Priscilla Marie. He is also survived by several great nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Foley (211 N Alston St, Foley, AL 36535). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at the Wynn Cemetery (17134 Co Rd 73, Summerdale, AL 36580).
