Beverly Darlene Steele Obituary

Beverly “Darlene” Steele (Shepherd) 69 passed away on Saturday February 13, 2021 after a period of declining health. Darlene was born in Alexandria Virginia on September 28th 1951 to the late Alvin and Ruby Shepherd. She grew up on Old Colchester Rd in Lorton Virginia, where she attended Gunston Elementary school and graduated from Edison High School. Darlene and her husband Dave resided in Virginia and Kentucky before retiring to Foley Alabama. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Dave of 48 years, her son Jason, daughter-in-law Mindy, a granddaughter Katie and a grandson Bryson. Her brothers Jerry (Jane) of Currituck NC, John (Binnie) of Fredericksburg VA and a sister Peggy (Tim) of Kannapolis NC.. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews she adored. Darlene was full of life and enjoyed helping others. She was a loving and caring lady who will be dearly missed. She was part of Share the Beach which was a program to help and protect the sea turtles, Darlene and Dave spent many hours on the beach waiting for the nest to hatch. This was more than just a hobby to them. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Expressions of love can be made to the Alabama sea turtles conservation program “Share the Beach”.
