Mitchell of Florence, Alabama, born in Lexington, Alabama, who passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Thomas Benton Mitchell; his siblings, Rachel Mitchell, Girchen Mitchell, Agnes Mitchell, Fisher Mitchell and James Mitchell; his sister-in-law Elizabeth C. Mitchell (Betty); and also Mae Pettus.
He is survived by: his children, Angela M. Thompson (Dan) of Huntsville, AL and Thomas W. Mitchell (Lisa) of Huntsville, AL; and his grandchildren, Nathan Thompson, Natalie Thompson, Nicolas Thompson, Nathan Frazier (Sylvia), Isaac Mitchell and Elisabeth Mitchell. He is also survived by his great-grandson; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to charity or organization of choice, such as Edgemont United Methodist Church or a veterans charity!
