He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Lee and Bertha Corrine Pruitt Lawson; his in-laws, Harvey and Willodean Atkinson; his brothers-in-law, James and Randy Atkinson; his nephew Steve Atkinson; and his brother-in-law Rex Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Atkinson Lawson; his children, Heather Lawson and Zachary Michael Lawson; his siblings, Wanda Phillips and Bruce Lawson (Dana); his sisters-in-law, Shirley Scanlon and Nan Atkinson; his nephew Jonathan (Kristin); and his nieces, Laura Howard (Jimmy), Becky, Tiffany (J. J.), Andrea Holt, Dana Kelley (Andy) and April Mitchell.
A graveside service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenview Memorial Park (3657 Old Chisholm Rd, Florence, AL 35633).
