He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Jackson and Reba Hine Johns; and his siblings, Elvin, Cledith, Waylon, Effie Beavers, Lucille Quillen and Joyce Bowman.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Wright Johns; and his children, Janet, Michael (Christina) and Regina (Stan). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Greenhill Funeal Home (8450 US-43, Florence, AL 35634). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Greenhill Funeal Home Chapel (8450 US-43, Florence, AL 35634). A burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Shiloh Cemetery (2605 Co Rd 344, Florence, AL 35634).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mars Hill Bible School or Sherrod Ave. Church of Christ.
