He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melvin and Lucy Campbell Sandy; and his grandson Benjamin Monroe Sandy. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Mae Sherer Sandy; his children, Will Sandy (Rebecca) of Florence, Alabama, Mark Sandy (Sheryle) of El Dorado, Arkansas and Debbie Plyler (Jay) of Hoover, Alabama; his grandchildren, Jared Plyler, Drew Plyler, Sarah Sandy (Buzz Hardin), Jonathan Sandy (Reganne) and Lucas Sandy; and his great grandchild Julien Royal Sandy-Hardin.
