He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Godfrey Archer; his parents, Jesse Jewel and Flora Nunnally Archer; and his siblings, Joe Nunnally Archer and Jane Archer Harrison.
He is survived by: his daughters, Beth Archer Carter (Clay) of Cullman, Pattye Archer of Starkville, MS and Lynn Archer Cook (Creighton) of Franklin, TN; and his grandchildren, Wil Carter (Natalie) of Nashville, Carson Cook of Decatur, GA, Emerson Cook of Ashville, NC and Sarah Scott Cook of Franklin, TN..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Fund (410 N. Pine St., Florence, AL 35630).
