She was predeceased by: her parents, James Alton Mitchell and Corrine Mitchell. She is survived by: her children, Charles Alton Gist and Kimberly Diane Gist; her grandchildren, Briana Gist and Shelby Gist; and also Curt Rock.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Greenhill Funeal Home (8450 US-43, Florence, AL 35634).
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to the Suzan G. Komen cancer foundation in Joan's honor.
