It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Gremillion Vaughn (Florence, Alabama), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Hilda leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Hilda may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Louis Ray Gremillion, John Leckenby and Jack Vaughn. She is survived by: her children, Chris Gremillion of Florence, Terry Gremillion of Baton Rouge, LA, Marcelle McDaniel (Harold) of Athens, AL and Greg Gremillion of Florence.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Greenview Funeral Home (3657 Old Chisholm Rd, Florence, AL 35633). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the TRI - Cities Memorial Gardens (2601 Florence Blvd, Florence, AL 35630).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Helen Keller Public Library or the American Cancer Society.
