He was predeceased by: his siblings, Eddie Lee of Florence, Robert James of Florence, Edward Louis Brown of Florence, Edward Key of Florence, William of Florence, Andrew Bullitt of Florence and Ruth Noel of Syracuse; and his siblings-in-law, Percy Harris, Cleotis Horrison, Alex Cole, Nathaniel Ingram and Patricia Barnett.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Jean Brown; his children, Tanya Brown (Eugene) of Florence, Sebrenia Davis (Peter) of Riverview, Mark Gaines (Jolynn) of Waukegan, Michael Jordan (Passion) of Muscle Shoals and Rod Thompson (LaToya) of Florence, Alabama; his grandchildren, Mark Jr., Tandra, Jasmine, Tez, Maurice, Sirenity, Meechie, Raven and Kaliyah; his great grandchildren, Mark III and Ameila; his caregiver Willie Fred Brown (Karen); his sisters, Fancy Horrison, Dessie Harris and Lena Mae Foster (Dmitro); his siblings-in-law, Manuel, Oscar Cole (Hadassah), Delois Brown, Betty Key, Pamela Ingram, Debbie Simpson and Joanna Cole; and his aunt Jessie Ruth Brown. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Thompson and Son Funeral Home (415 S Poplar St, Florence, AL 35630). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel Lauderdale Missionary Baptist Church (10090 Co Rd 2, Florence, AL 35633). A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at the Bethel Lauderdale Cemetery (10090 Co Rd 2, Florence, AL 35633).
