With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Erma Lou McGowan of Florence, Alabama, who passed away on January 4, 2025 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Erma Lou McGowan to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Lincoln and Gemela Caudill Roark; and her brothers, Henry Junior Roark and Charles Roark. She is survived by: her husband Jack L. McGowan; her daughter Marcy Gemela McGowan Hill (Doug); her sisters, Mary Sue Roark Hicks and Rosalee Roark Fraze; her grandchildren, Hannah Nicole Hill and Jack Douglas Hill; her daughter Amanda Campbell (Jonathan); and her siblings-in-law, Dan McGowan and Phyllis Jones (Daniel). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home (1950 Helton Drive, Florence, AL 35630). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel and Burial.
