He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbie Pitts and Omie Pitts; his wife Vera Mae Pitts; his daughter Vivian Minton; his wife Eunice Faye Pitts; his stepdaughter Cindy Vaden; and his siblings, Eddie, Teddy, Gary, Wendell Pitts and Reba Taylor.
He is survived by: his close friend Betty Sue Pickens; his daughter Carolyn Pitts; his stepson Eddie Vaden; and his siblings, Ronnie Pitts (Mary Faye), Joe Pitts (Callie), Claudean Nunn and Judy Wright. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
