He is survived by: his wife Barbara Russell Simmons; his children, David Shane Simmons (Robin), Paul Simmons (Crystal Flannagan), Bobby Russell and Kimberly Strickland (Joel); his brother Boise Simmons (Maedine); and his grandchildren, Jessie Sherrod, Bobby Dan Russell, Troy Simmons, Dustin Simmons, Chelsey Strickland and Ashlyn Strickland. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
