He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles James and Bertha James; and his siblings, Doug James and Doris Grimes. He is survived by: his wife Caroline James; his daughter Tina McDaniel (Jason); his grandchildren, Brittney and Justus McDaniel; and his great grandchildren, Briley and Brindley Rowlett.
