It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Rodger Thompson of Florence, Alabama, born in Conley, Georgia, who passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur William Thompson and Otrell Hightower Thompson; and his brothers, Glenn, James and Billy Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Putman Thompson of Florence, AL; his children, Jeff Thompson (Anisa) of Rogersville, AL, Danny Thompson (Elizabeth) of Buford, GA and Melanie Thompson King (Chris) of Rowlett, TX; his grandchildren, Alex Thompson (Kate), Anna Thompson, Charlotte Thompson, Allie, Avery and Ashton King; and his nieces, Hannah Putman Mims (Brian), Erin and Emily Elam. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
