It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Sockwell (Florence, Alabama), who passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Lee Douglas Cox; her former husband Basil Sockwell; her parents, Notie Delones Hayes and Taylor Hayes; and her brothers, Thomas, James and David Hayes.
She is survived by: her daughter Carolyn Lansdell (Rick); her granddaughter Emilee Chappell Stone (Jason); her great grandchildren, Mary-Chappell and Bennett Stone of Atlanta, GA; her son Andre'Douglas Cox (Cindy); her grandchildren, Andrea and Leighann Cox; her caregivers, Ashley Clanton and Jill Mitchell; her great grandchildren, Destiny, Blake Johnson, Ashton Goodloe, Makynlee Cox and Brinlee McLaughlin; and her daughter-in-law Patricia Moore Cox. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
