It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ava Cox Hughes of Florence, Alabama, who passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Ava Cox may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her father Richard T. Cox; and her daughter Cecilia Kirkland Watson. She is survived by: her mother Elena Glover; her son R. D. Callis III; her siblings, Pam Hendon and Tony Cox (Kristi); and her grandchildren, Sydney Kirkland Watson, Emmett Watson and Corbin Callis. She is also survived by numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.
