She was predeceased by: her husband Edward L. Smitherman; her parents, Frank White and Pauline White; and her brothers, Hugh and Dave White.

She is survived by: her children, William Chad Smitherman, Lisa Smitherman Cochran (Bill) and Kim Smitherman McKenzie (Keith); her siblings, Doty White and Clarice White Johnson (Randy); and her grandchildren, Seth Wix, Anna Wix Springer, Karly Cochran, Kyle Cochran and Cheyenne Smitherman. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
