He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Winn and Rox Ann Hancock; his wife Wynell Hancock; his son-in-law Charlie Peters; and his grandson John Sterling Hancock.
He is survived by: his children, Alver Terell Hancock of Decatur, Preston Lynn Hancock of Waterloo, Alabama and Teresa Peters of Toney, Alabama; his grandchildren, Danielle Peters Kelly, Brianna Peters, Nathan Hancock and Brandon Hancock; and his great grandchildren, Blayden, Delilah Kelley, Mia Peters, Charli Cobb, Luna Peters and CataBrie Hancock.
