He is survived by: his wife Martha Byrd; his sons, Marty Byrd (Kaylyn) and Steve Byrd, Sr (Sherry) of Georgia; his grandchildren, Eric Byrd, Steven Byrd, Jr (Amanda), Samantha Thrash (John Michael), Heather Leonard (Jason), Tim Knopes, Rob Knopes and Heather McBrayer; his great grandchildren, Noah, Julia, Cara Leonard, Gunner, Waylon Byrd and Willow Thrash; his siblings, Lonnie Byrd (Beverly) and Ophelia Fuqua; and his siblings-in-law, Ellen Byrd and John Johnston. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
