He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bright Cooper and Sara Perdue Smith; his stepfather Roger Smith; and his sister Sandra Smith. He is survived by: his fiancée Patricia Laird; his daughters, Katherine Cox and Victoria McCullers; his grandsons, Ethan Mobley and Carter McCullers; his siblings, William Smith and Virginia Reeves; his stepbrother Tim Smith; and the mother of his children Kathy Brooks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
