He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas Shivers (Mary Etta) and Martha Lou Shivers; and his siblings, Vergie Lee Kelly, Jessie Shiver, Julius Shiver, Allie Shivers, Clark Shivers, Carl Shivers, Roy Shivers and Tommie Shivers, Jr..
He is survived by: his son Joe Shivers, Jr. (Sue); his grandchildren, Philip Shivers of Jay, FL and Angel Shivers Kelley (Terry) of Jay, FL; and his great grandchildren, Autumn Shivers, Alex Shivers, Carson Shivers, Peighton Cobb and Jansen Cobb.
