He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest William and Mary Ida Medlock Carter. He is survived by: his wife Judy Christopher Carter; his children, Jerry "Buddy" Carter Jr. (Tammy), Jayme Simms (Tommy) and Jeanne Ali (Isam); his stepsons, Curtis Gordy (Amy) and Kendall Christopher (Ashley); and his sisters, Jan Casteel and Carol Tigue. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
