He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Boone and Mary Will Dodgen Boone. He is survived by: his wife Connie Gary Boone; his sons, Jeremy Clay Boone and Brandon Seth Boone (Dana); and his grandson Jackson Wayne Boone.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
