He was predeceased by: his wife Essie Clara Johnston; his parents, Delmer Johnston and Bertha Robinson Johnston; his children, Mitchell Earl Johnston, Linda Diane Hopkins and William Allen Johnston; and his grandson Kenneth Gabriel Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Del Johnston of Alabaster, Yvonne Johnson of Ashville and Lisa Ellis (Chris) of Pinson. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
