He was predeceased by: his parents, Carleton Whitaker and Georgia Thomas Whitaker; and his sister June Whitaker Miller. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Wise Whitaker of Fayette; his children, Timothy Caleb Whitaker of Jasper, Thomas Whitaker of Rocky Mount, NC and Elizabeth Colburn of Jasper; and his sister Lynn Whitaker Ford. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
