He is survived by: his wife Nancy Petty; his daughters, Amanda Lea Petty Hunnicutt (James C.) and Holly Anne Petty Benton (Tony); his stepchildren, Natalie Dubois and Jeremy Dubois (Christi); his siblings, Carl "Bo" Petty, John "Sonny" White (Pat) and Janice Glasgow (Buddy); his grandchildren, Brooklyn Smith, Kensley Smith, Cameron Nelson, Camden Payne, Chandler Nelson and Divi Dubois; and his great grandchildren, Noah and Eli Price.
