He was predeceased by: his parents, Lindsey Sanford and Vaudine Sanford; and his siblings, Ailene Locke, Alfred, Curt, Eugene, James and Larry Sanford.
He is survived by: his wife Diann Chappell of Fayette; his son Robby Sanford of Nashville; and his brother Bill Sanford of Fayette. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
