She was predeceased by: her parents, John Darnell and Lillian Moore Darnell; her siblings, John Wilson "Jay" Darnell, Dorothy Darnell Porter and Ethel "Polly" Darnell Ferguson; and her husband Doyle Matthews.
She is survived by: her nieces, Joy Porter Nichols (Aubrey) of Columbus, MS and June Ferguson Smith (Bruce) of Birmingham, AL; and her nephew James Michael "Jim" Porter (Wanda) of Como.
