It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Marie Townsend of Fayette, Alabama, born in Avery, Texas, who passed away on June 25, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. CJ Townsend; her parents, Earnest Wilton Bellotte and Nillie Mae Meadows; and her siblings, Wilton Leo Bellotte, Verbie Gay Bellotte and Nillie Earnestine Bellotte Anderson.
She is survived by: her brothers, Earnest Wilton Bellotte and Daniel Vannoy Bellotte of Maud, TX; her sister-in-law Hallie Marie Nichols Bellotte of Bosier City, LA; her children, Harold Townsend (Nancy) of Jackson, AL, Sharon Townsend of Pell City, AL, Cecilia Benton (Curtis) of Fayette and John Townsend of Colfax, LA; and her grandchildren, Keith Townsend (Kristi) of Moss Point, MS, Scott Townsend (Ashley) of Dallas, TX, Jennifer Capers (Adam) of Jackson, AL, Jami Seagraves (Chris) of Alabaster, AL, Jeremy Benton of Fayette, Lindsay Nichols (Brandon) of Cleveland, MS and Cody Benton of Fayette, AL. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
