He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dunn and Florence Simpson Dunn. He is survived by: his sister Fannie Mitchell (Frankie); his nephew Michael "Mike" Mitchell; his niece Patricia "Patty" Friend; his wife Shirley Powell Dunn of Bankston; his sons, Billy R. Dunn, Jr. (Darlyne) of Fayette and Micah W. Dunn (Vonda); his grandchildren, Mason Dunn (Jenny) of Northport, Lauren Dunn, Noah Dunn and Jackson Dunn; and his great grandchild Wesley Dunn of Northport.
