She was predeceased by : her parents, James Nicholson and Virginia Serowicz; her son Rod Gibson; and her siblings, Margaret Shindell, Diane Marie Hood and Donnie Serowicz.

She is survived by : her husband Huey Gibson; her daughters, Sanet Ballard (Allen), Brenda George (Chris) and Cathy Stapleton (Tommy); and her siblings, Katherine Fueselle and James "Jim" Nicholson. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
