He was predeceased by: his parents, Beulah Tillery Pope of Virginia and Robert Van Pope; and his brother William Thomas Pope. He is survived by: his siblings, Lois Faye Pope Hartley (David), James Earl Pope (Susan), David Joseph Pope (Becky), Robert Lee Pope Sr. and George Steven Pope. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
