He is survived by: his wife Syble Shelton Murphy; his daughter Amy Murphy Godwin (John); his brother Lamar Murphy; his grandchildren, Virginia Tyler Godwin Meadows (Bradley), Sara Shelton Godwin Carnley (Josh) and Redding Maxwell Godwin; and his great grandchildren, Lola Hazel Meadows, Sims Meadows, Maggie George Meadows, June Carnley, Win Carnley, Murphy Carnley Max Godwin, Bradley Meadows, Josh Carnley, Zac Littrell, Jeff Black, Glen Whiteside and Donnie Haney.
