He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Preston and Pearl Long; and his wife Polly. He is survived by: his children, Howard Long (Charlotte) and Amy Long Patton (Thomas); his grandchildren, Margot Carson Patton and Ian Long Patton; and his brother Varon P. Long (Angie).
