He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Grindle and Roland Grindle Sr.; and his siblings, Eloise Wales, Lois Watson, Lucille Howell, Doris Bess and Roland "Sonny" Grindle Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Lillie Judy Grindle; his daughters, Michelle Andrews (Dale Teachout, III) of Fairhope and Angie Cooley (Scott) of Fairhope; his grandchildren, Courtney Hanke (Brett) of Robertsdale, Caleb Andrews of Fairhope, Colin Andrews of Robertsdale, Devon Ardis-Edwards (Evan) of Kennesaw, GA and Jacob Cooley of Fairhope; his great grandchildren, Leon Hanke and Lillie Hanke; his niece Jenny Schroeder; and his nephew Phillip Bess (Sarah). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
