He was predeceased by: his wife Laverne Morgan Darnell; and his siblings, Catherine Gibbons, Bonnie Dubose and Bill Darnell. He is survived by: his children, Henry Darnell (Nancy) of Saraland, Don Darnell (Carla) of Waynesville, N. C., Ricky Darnell (Paula) of Grand Bay, Cindy Darnell Bishop of Fairhope and Jamie Darnell Logan of Elberta; and his stepdaughters, Linda Rayborn Chupek (Sid) of Fairhope, Karen Rayborn Aldridge of Alabaster and Cheryl Rayborn Brister (Terry) of Ft. Walton Beach. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in Leon's honor, donations be made to Eastern Shore Church of Christ for mission trips.
