He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel O. Bettner and Violet Bettner; his son James Lee; and his siblings, Gloria Halstead and Charles Bettner.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Bettner of Fairhope, AL; his children, Amanda Volovecky (Stephen) of Fairhope, AL and Joseph Ryan Bettner (Kristin) of Fairhope, AL; his siblings, Cathy Gormandy, Claudia Callaway, Dorothy Williamson, Diane Griffin, Donald Bettner and Freddie Bettner; his grandchildren, Katlyn, Bryant, Samuel and Tanner; and his friends, Dr. Jason Northcutt, Dr. Parag Mahatekar and Sharon Murphy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives.
