He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor J and William R Hinton, Jr.; his daughter Cheryl Sullivan; his siblings, Elizabeth Joiner (Howard), Dorothy Sawyer (Aubrey), William R Hinton, III, Philip Hinton, Sr. (Charlene) and Robert Hinton, Sr.; and his brother-in-law Earl Sawyer.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hinton; his children, Amanda Thompson (Tim), Angela VanDevander (David), Lorie Johnson (Randy) and David Hinton (Vicky); his sisters, Janie Sawyer and Mary Freeman (Denson); his sister-in-law Irma Hinton; his brother Genie; and his grandchildren, Ben, Jon, Daniel, David, Matthew, Liz, Kady, Chuck, Holly, Misty, Chris, Rachael, Kayla, Tori, Greg and Shannon.
