He is survived by: his wife Ann R. Godwin; his children, Theresa Chisolm (Jayson), Kevin Godwin (Michelle) and Corbett Godwin (Vanessa); his grandchildren, Kelsey Luke, Ashley Chisolm, Whitten, Jessica Chisolm, Noah Chisolm, Alex Powers, Ashleigh Powers, Ryleigh Godwin and Owen Godwin; his siblings, Barbara Godwin Blair (family: Tommy Godwin) and Dwayne Godwin; and also Judah Luke.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that in honor of George, that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ronald McDonald House.
