He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Aubrey Ellis and Doris Annette Wilson Ellis; and his wife Mary Ann Ellis. He is survived by: his children, Darrin Lee Ellis (Paige) of Fairhope and Amber Dee Ellis (Randy Jackson) of Huntsville; his brother Samuel Wayne "Tootie" Ellis (Cathy) of Meridian; and his grandsons, Emmett Jackson Ellis and Samuel Aubrey Ellis, II.
