She was predeceased by: her husband Horace McDowell, Jr.; and her brother Larry William Stewart. She is survived by: her children, Larry McDowell (Sam Gregory) of Brooklyn, NY and Rebecca Deason (Gary) of Birmingham, AL; her sister Gail Stewart Maddox (Dennis); and her grandchildren, Patricia Ethel Mae McDowell, Stewart Larry Alton McDowell, Idris Ashley Nelson Gregory and Eudora Esther Even Gregory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Church in her memory.
